Sami Parliament: Indigenous visitors from Norway

Representatives from the Sami Parliament in Norway, the elected assembly of the Sami people, will visit the University of Melbourne and the Lowitja Institute from 23–25 February 2016. The aim of the visit is to learn from and exchange experiences of Indigenous health research between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the Sami people, and to discuss how to  develop Indigenous protective ethical guidelines in research. Presentations on the Sami Parliament, Sami health research and health services for the Sami people will be given as well as proposals for collaborative research projects between Australia and Norway.
